"The Massacre at Sand Creek and the Civil War" documentary and talk will be this Thursday at 6 p.m. at Idaho State University's Frazier Hall. This important documentary vividly portrays a dark chapter in American history and is an ideal addition to the Idaho Museum of Natural History's yearly remembering of the Bear River Massacre near Preston, Idaho. This film delves into the tragic events of 1864 when a Colorado militia ruthlessly attacked a peaceful Cheyenne and Arapaho village at Sand Creek, resulting in a significant loss of life. Things begin with Introductory remarks by Dr. Charles "Andy" Speer, followed by a 6:30 pm: Screening of "The Massacre at Sand Creek and the Civil War." All are welcome to attend.

Disney's "Wish" plays this Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Bengal Theater, with a 4 p.m. matinee on Saturday also. "Brand New Year" a Mindfulness Meditation retreat, will be this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Wood River room at the ISU Pond Student Union. Zoom option is available also. Meditation instruction is provided. Chairs are provided or bring a cushion. People can also bring a yoga mat for optional Yoga instruction that will be available during the movement meditation period. Feel free to bring a snack or sack lunch for mindful eating.
