SODA SPRINGS — For the last two years, the Friends of the Soda Springs City Park have worked hard to fund a new, state-of-the-art, high-quality, low-maintenance playground where children of all abilities can play together. The Friends of the Soda Springs City Park are pleased to announce that in just a few short weeks, phase 1 of their project which is the playground portion, is about to become a reality for the children of Caribou County and those who visit. Because the playground is being built first, all focus is on raising final funds needed to complete the build.

There are many ways you can be a part of this momentous accomplishment. The Friends are seeking sponsors for components that are still available for adoption. By sponsoring a component, you are helping this project come to fruition, and your sponsorship will be recognized on the Friends of the Soda Springs City Park website, on the donor wall and with a plaque. Playground components still available for adoption include:

  • The All-Ability Space Whirl is a great addition to any playground where space is limited, allowing children of all abilities to play alongside each other. This merry-go-round has one wheelchair station, standing space and two seats, one of which has a support ring for toddlers. It is also flush to the ground. We are looking for a sponsor or co-sponsors for this merry go round. Cost to sponsor is $10,000 or to co-sponsor is $5,000.
  • The Multi-Generational Swing allows adults to swing in a belt seat, eye to eye with a child swinging in a toddler seat. There are two multi-generational swings in the design and cost to sponsor both is $5,300 or individually is $2,650.
  • The Therapeutic Swing provides back support for children who do not have the muscle strength to sit in a swing independently and calms children with sensory disorders. We are looking for a sponsor or co-sponsors for this swing. Cost to sponsor is $4,500 or to co-sponsor is $2,250.
  • The Tot Swing is a delight to infants and toddlers who cannot yet swing on their own. There are two tot swings in the design and cost to sponsor both is $4,200 or individually is $2,100.
  • The To-and-Fro Swings (belt swings) are vital to any playground. Older kids develop core muscle strength as they pump their legs to get off the ground. There are tree belt swings in the design and cost to sponsor all three is $4,200 or to sponsor individually is $1,400.
  • The Tire Swing is a favorite on any playground. It allows more than one child to spin and swing and is oh so much fun. Cost to sponsor is $4,600 or to co-sponsor is $2,300.

You can either sponsor a component directly or in memory of loved ones. If you would like to put your name on one these pieces of equipment, call Laura Lind at 208-604-0885 or Georgia Brown at 435-757-1521.
