With College of Eastern Idaho President Rick Aman set to retire in a month, the school’s board of trustees is in the final stages of selecting his replacement.

Three finalists — John Baker, Lori Barber, and Mark Browning — have been chosen by the members of the Presidential Search Committee.

Baker is the current president of Mountwest Community and Technical College in Huntington, West Virginia. He previously served as vice president of instruction at Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado.

Baker has a doctorate in philosophy in community college leadership from Oregon State University, a master of science in exercise science and a bachelor of arts in history teaching from Brigham Young University.

Barber is the vice president of academic and student affairs at CEI and previously served as Dean of General Education.

Barber has a doctorate in education in Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University. She also holds a master of arts in interdisciplinary studies in history and anthropology and a bachelor of arts and letters in history from Idaho State University.

Browning is the current president of Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Oregon. He had served as vice president for college relations at the College of Western Idaho.

Browning has a doctorate of education in higher education leadership from ISU. He also obtained a master of public administration from the University of Idaho and a bachelor of arts in mass communication at ISU.
