Story: Josh Barnett break's ISU's career rushing record, but Bryan Hilliard steals the day. He runs for 243 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Hornets, who beat the Bengals for the third straight season.

Story: Idaho State hangs with its in-state foe early, but Boise State distances itself with three second-quarter touchdowns. Thompson starts the season with 10 catches, two-thirds of Hill's completions in the game.

Date: Sept. 6, 2008

Site: Kibbie Dome, Moscow

Story: A blocked punt and a 77-yard pass give Idaho a 14-0 lead just six minutes into the game. The 35-7 halftime lead is too deep for a revived Idaho State offense, paced by Thompson's single-game school-record 17 catches.

Story: Idaho State allows a season-low 358 yards of offense, but Montana State's three first-quarter touchdowns prove too much to overcome. Hill throws for more than 300 yards for the fourth straight game.

Site: Nottingham Field, Greeley, Colo.

Story: Idaho State commits five turnovers and gets none back as Northern Colorado ends its own seven-game losing streak. The Bears run for 265 net yards and hold the ball for 37:09. They also hold the Bengals' offense to 262 yards.
