POCATELLO - Century completed 4A fifth District play with an undefeated 4-0 record by sweeping Preston 25-10, 25-20, 25-11 at home Thursday.

"Everything's really coming together for us right now," Century coach Alice Heberlein said.

Heberlein praised the efforts of outside hitter Jennifer Donaldson, who did not commit a single kill error, as well as setter Taylor Peck, who racked up three service aces on top of her 12 assists. Century had 12 service aces in all.

Kaneshia Nelson led the Diamondbacks with 12 digs.

Century (39-5) next travels to Minico on Tuesday and will host the district playoffs, beginning Oct. 21.

GRACE - Grace staked its claim for the 2A Fifth District title when it edged West Side 19-25, 25-17, 18-25, 25-20, 15-10 at home on Wednesday night.

With the win, Grace (18-6) tied West Side at 6-1 in conference play.

"More than anything else, it was just pure tenacity," Grace coach Ray Yamauchi said. "Our team knew that we really needed this win to stay alive in this conference."

Kylee Jensen led the Grizzlies with 11 kills, while Angela Smith had 10. Grace racked up a total of 26 assists.

Grace next hosts Ririe on Wednesday.
