IDAHO FALLS - Five Pocatello wrestlers finished the weekend perfect as the Indians took fourth place with a 7-1 dual record at the High Country Conference dual meet, which wrapped up Saturday at Bonneville High.

"We wrestled with great intensity in most of our matches," said Pocatello coach Todd Praska. "As a team, we improved on our technique and aggressiveness as the tournament went on."

Eddie Millward, Abner Cook, Dallas Warren, Trevor Rupp and Wes Howard didn't lose in the eight duals. Millward, Cook and Rupp remained unbeaten on the season.

Wrestling without a 189-pouner, the Indians beat Mountain Home, Snake River, Sugar-Salem, Shelley, Preston, Vallivue and a team made up of extra wrestlers from the teams at the tournament because Post Falls was snowed in.

Pocatello's lone loss was a 42-32 setback to American Falls, which finished the weekend 6-2 and in third place.

"We looked real good for this time of the season," Praska said.

The Indians are now 10-3 in duals this season, and they will wrestle at Century on Jan. 6.

JEROME - Highland won the Bearcat Invitational on Saturday when it had five wrestlers capture first place in their respective weight classes and another six place.

Brennan Bell, who won the tournament's Outstanding Lightweight Wrestler, led the Rams by winning the 103-pound class. The Rams also got wins from 112-pounder Anthony Esplin, 119-pounder Brenn Schiess, 160-pounder Justin Allen and heavyweight Gaylen Edmo.

Highland's JV team also won its edition of the tournament.

"The whole team is working their guts out and working to get better," Highland coach Travis Bell said. "I can't be any more happy with them."

Highland next wrestles at Twin Falls on Jan. 6.
