Saige Goff, Snake River

Under first year coach Steven Morton, the Snake River girls' basketball team is rounding into form.

As the Panthers continue to learn Morton's system, they should continue to improve, which may be a scary thought for the team's 3A Fifth District opponents.

Snake River sports a 3-2 record early in the season, and it is on a two-game winning streak thanks in large part to the efforts of Saige Goff.

In the Panthers' two wins this week, the 5-foot-7 junior averaged 19 points, which helped her earn this week's athlete of the week honor.

Her 17-point effort helped Snake River pick up a road victory - 51-32 - Tuesday at Teton, and she scored 21 points in Thursday's 46-38 win over South Fremont.

For the season, Goff is averaging 13.2 points a game, and she will look to continue her torrid stretch tonight when the Panthers face top-ranked Sugar-Salem.
