Aberdeen senior Trevor Spence earned more yards on the ground than any other Fifth District running back, and on Wednesday, 2A Fifth District coaches rewarded him with player of the year honors for the conference.

Along with his success out of the backfield, Spence excelled as a linebacker for the Tigers.

Kendell Foster of Aberdeen joined his teammate in picking up a major award, as coaches chose Foster as defensive player of the year. Tigers coach Cory Hollingsworth added to the collection of honors, as he was coach of the year.

Malad's Braiden Jones was selected as offensive player of the year.
