What's at stake:

Idaho State hung with DePaul for much of its season opener before finally losing 73-55. The Bengals can really make a statement if they can topple the Wyoming Cowgirls, who made the NCAA tournament last year like the Blue Demons did.

Key matchup:

Wyoming forward Emma Langford vs. Michelle Grohs. Langford, a 6-foot-2 freshman, leads the Cowgirls with 16.1 points per game. Grohs shut down Montana Western's top scorer, bruising forward Alysa Brown, on Wednesday. Langford presents a different challenge because she is most dangerous beyond the 3-point line (47.2 percent).

Three things about Wyoming:

n Wyoming rallied from a 23-point halftime deficit to eke out a 78-75 win at Weber State on Thursday. The Cowgirls also have traveled to play Montana, dropping a 71-64 decision Nov. 16.

n Idaho State trailed Wyoming by nine points at halftime last season on its way to a 76-50 loss in Laramie, Wyo.

n Wyoming and Idaho State have identical free-throw marks at 68.5 percent. The Cowgirls' weakness at the charity stripe might hurt them if the game remains close by the end.

Happy ending if…

The Bengals continue to get balanced offensive production throughout their lineup.

Sad ending if…

The Bengals struggle in the early goings and resort to jacking up 3-pointers in a bid to get back in the game.

Bottom line:

Big Sky coaches ranked Weber State sixth in their preseason poll, one spot above Idaho State. Seeing as the Wildcats almost pulled off a win against the Cowgirls, there's no reason why the Bengals shouldn't be able to accomplish the feat.
