BASKETBALL

    • Southeast Idaho Hoops Academy will be offering a new post and guard moves class for athletes in sixth through 12th grade beginning the second week of December (closed the week of Christmas). This class will focus on attack moves to the basket, post and guard footwork, post moves, screen roll and screen pop, post and guard defense, shooting footwork, rebounding and cutting to the basket.     • Southeast Idaho Hoops Academy is now accepting registrations for basketball skills training classes. Athletes in the second through 12th grade are invited to attend. Classes are offered in four-week sessions that run Dec. 2 through Jan. 2 and Jan. 6 through 31. Classes include Shooting and Ball Handling, Post and Guard Play, and SCRAP Training.     • The Pocatello Parks and Recreation Department’s kids basketball player registration for boys in the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh grades began Monday, Nov. 4 and will conclude Friday, Dec. 6. The cost will be $30 per player. Coaches may register and pick up rosters beginning Nov. 4. Online registration will be available at http://pocatelloparksrecreation.sportsites.com/Player/HomePlayer.aspx. All completed team rosters will also be due Friday, Dec. 6. Late registration of players begins Dec. 10 if there are openings on existing teams. All late registrants will be subject to a $5 late fee charge. The season begins Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 and will conclude Saturday, March 8. Volunteer coaches are needed for this program to succeed. For questions concerning the program, call 234-6235. All volunteer coach applicants will be subject to a background check.

INLINE HOCKEY

    • H & R Inline Hockey will begin a new adult season beginning the first part of January for beginners through advanced players. The cost is $80 per season. LACROSSE

    • Winter League is currently underway. This is an opportunity for both new and current players to learn and practice lacrosse skills and game strategies. High school players will play Dec. 5 and 12 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Meet at the indoor arena on the 3700 block of Pole Line Road. Contact coach Mike Henderson at 241-7874. Youth and middle school players in grades four-eight will play Nov. 26, Dec. 3, 10 and 17 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Meet at the indoor arena on the 3700 block of Pole Line Road. SWIMMING

    • Swim team tryouts have started at the Tiger Aquatic Club (TAC) in Pocatello. There are various teams available for all ages and levels. Please call head coach Dustin Perry for more details at 232-4366.

FOOTBALL

    • The All State Football Game is looking for the top current seventh grade football players to represent team Idaho. This team will take on the Treasure Valley all stars in the eighth Annual All State Game. The game will be broadcast on Idahosports.com.     • Full contact alumni football games are being set up for those athletes who played at Pocatello, Highland, Marsh Valley, Century and North Gem high schools. The games will be full contact using high school rules. The organizers will provide all equipment. The games will be held in October with locations and times to be announced. SOFTBALL

    • The Sandlot Reign 14U Elite travel softball team is looking for one player. This player would start immediately and play fall ball league and tournaments. They would continue playing during summer 2014. This players must be eligible per ASA age requirements to partcipate in 14U next summer. DANCING AND GYMNASTICS

    • Registration for the City of Pocatello Community Recreation Center’s fall dance and gymnastic classes is under way. The dance and gymnastics schedules and online registration are available by visiting the Parks and Recreation Department page at www.pocatello.us. Registration can also be done at the community Recreation Center on 144 Wilson Avenue. Classes begin in September and end with recitals in January. Class tuition is $20 per month. BOXING

    • The Gate City Boxing Club on 323 N. Main is now accepting applications for the 2012-2013 boxing season. Any person, male or female, ages eight through 34 are eligible to compete.
