FENCING

    • The Pocatello Fencing club will begin its 2013-14 season Sept. 18. Any youth between the ages of 6 and 18 are welcome to come check out the unique sport. Students the ages of 6-12 will meet between 6 and 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Older students meet from  7-8:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. FOOTBALL

    • The 11th Annual All-Southeast Idaho Football Camp is set to take place Aug. 5-8 (Monday through Thursday) at Raymond Park. Conducted by the Pocatello High School football coaching staff, this camp will include football skills competitions, fundamentals and some team concepts. This camp is for kids in fourth through eighth grade and will go from 6-8:30 p.m. each day. Sign up will be Monday at Raymond Park at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $50 per camper, and a T-shirt is included.     • The Southeast Idaho Youth Football League is now accepting registration forms for the upcoming 2013 season. It is for players who will be in fifth, sixth, seventh or eighth grade in the fall.     • The All State Football Game is looking for the top current seventh grade football players to represent team Idaho. This team will take on the Treasure Valley all stars in the eighth Annual All State Game. The game will be broadcast on Idahosports.com.     • Full contact alumni football games are being set up for those athletes who played at Pocatello, Highland, Marsh Valley, Century and North Gem high schools. BASKETBALL

    • It's hard to believe summer is almost over.  Here's what's happening at the Southeast Idaho Hoops Academy in August: The August training session started Monday and runs through Aug. 29. You can register for unlimited classes for $99 or pay by the class. Visit www.seihoops.com to view the class schedule and register. Due to football starting for many athletes, the Academy will not be offering the evening Shooting and Ball Handling or SCRAP classes during August. These classes are still available Monday-Thursday at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Watch for the Academy’s float in the Chubbuck Days Parade, Saturday, Aug.10. Visit the booth at Cotant Park that day to participate in a free throw shooting contest and other fun activities.

    • Anyone interested in playing basketball for the Pocatello Lady Indians next year or in the future is welcome to attend open gym every Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7 p.m. There is no charge. The open gyms focus on agility, strength and basketball fundamentals in a fun atmosphere. It is also a great chance to meet current players and coaches.     • Preston Golf and Country Club will be hosting the Gilt Edge Flour Mill Four-ball (Best Ball) Championship, Saturday, August 10. It will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The Entry Fee for members is $40 ($50 for non-members). Gilt Edge Flour Mill will be adding $1000 to the purse. Teams must be within eight strokes of each other and will be flighted by the low player on the team. Players will receive 90% of their handicap. SOCCER

    • Fall Adult Coed Soccer team registration will begin July 29 and will remain open until Wednesday, Aug. 14. Rosters must be accompanied with the team fee of $410 and have a minimum of nine signatures in order to be accepted. The team fee allows up to 15 players to be on the roster. SOFTBALL

    • The Idaho Impact 14U, 16U and 18U fastpitch travel softball teams will be holding tryouts for the 2014 season Aug. 14 and 15th at Capell Park in Chubbuck.  Players for the U14 team will tryout Aug. 14 at 6 p.m. while 16U and 18U players will tryout Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. Players should bring water and their own softball equipment to tryouts.     • Registration for the Pocatello Parks and Recreation Department’s fall softball leagues will begin Tuesday, July 22 and continue until Wednesday, Aug. 14. The league will be limited as to how many teams can participate. The season is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of August 26 and continue into October. The fee for each team is $535. Registration can be done at the Team Sports Office, 144 Wilson or fees can be paid online at http://pocatelloparksrecreation.sportsites.com/Player/HomePlayer.aspx. There are no individual player fees for this league. Teams will be allowed to have up to 18 players on the roster. No “pick-up” players will be allowed. Team rosters are available online at http://teamsports.pocatello.us. Coed and Women’s teams will play Mondays and Wednesdays while Men’s teams will play Tuesdays and Thursdays. Friday games may be scheduled if necessary. Games will be played at the Watkins Softball Complex and Tydeman Park. Players must be at least 18 years of age in order to participate in the men’s and coed divisions and at least 16 in the women’s division. FLAG FOOTBALL

    • The Pocatello Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registration for Kid’s Flag Football for third and fourth grade boys and girls (as of the start of school Fall 2013). Registration is available online at http://pocatelloparksrecreation.sportsites.com/Player/HomePlayer.aspx. Registration fees are $30 per player. Players will be assigned to teams by schools and geographical areas of the city if at all possible. All players from outside the Pocatello/Chubbuck area must be in contact with a coach prior to registration in the league. The last day of regular registration will be Friday, August 16. A $5 late fee may be assessed beginning Monday, Aug. 19. Team practices will be allowed to start Monday, Aug. 26. The season is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 9. Games are played Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning at 5:40 p.m. on the Halliwell Park football fields. Starting dates are subject to change based on registration numbers.     • The Pocatello Parks and Recreation Department Adult Women's Volleyball League will begin play in September. Players must be at least 16 years of age in order to participate. Team rosters must be turned in to the Parks and Recreation Office on or before Wednesday, Aug. 14 in order to be included in the league schedule. Anyone interested in joining an existing team or forming their own team should contact our office immediately. Team fees are $230 and includes up to nine players on the roster. DANCING AND GYMNASTICS

    • Registration for the City of Pocatello Community Recreation Center’s fall dance and gymnastic classes is under way. The dance and gymnastics schedules and online registration are available by visiting the Parks and Recreation Department page at www.pocatello.us. Registration can also be done at the community Recreation Center on 144 Wilson Avenue. Classes begin in September and end with recitals in January. Class tuition is $20 per month. BOXING

    • The Gate City Boxing Club on 323 N. Main is now accepting applications for the 2012-2013 boxing season. Any person, male or female, ages eight through 34 are eligible to compete.
