POCATELLO - With an umpiring crew on hand that consistently forgave contact around the basket, Idaho State earned just eight free throws in its 61-55 loss to Wyoming on Saturday at Reed Gym.

Idaho State converted seven of its foul shots, compared to the 15 Wyoming hit in its 22 attempts. The Bengals considered several non-calls questionable but said those didn't affect the outcome of the game.

"I wish we could have gotten a couple more calls, but that's not what it came down to," senior point guard Jenna Brown said. "It came down to us getting shots and not knocking them down, and them getting inside hurt us."

If anything, the physical nature of play may have even served as motivation for Idaho State, said junior post Oana Iacovita, who scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

"Personally, if I get banged up, if someone starts playing dirty on me, I'm going to get pumped up," Iacovita said. "You're not going to be there just getting hit. You're going to hit back."

Sophomore guard Chelsea Pickering, who has fought ankle, wrist and shoulder injuries all season long, admitted to feeling a little banged up after the game, but not because of the bruising nature of the contest.

"I don't eat fruits and vegetables, so I don't get the nutrients I need," Pickering said. "So this is just normal for me to feel like this."

Wait, what?

With about 10 seconds remaining in the first half, referee Jeneane Pence awarded Idaho State a timeout - a call that surprised Bengals coach Seton Sobolewski.

It turned out he was calling a play by yelling "five-out." Pence reversed the call to spare Sobolewski his second timeout, but he mused after the game that he might have to change the name of that play.

"I guess, yeah, it sounded too much like 'timeout,'" Sobolewski said. "That was funny."
