OGDEN, Utah — The Idaho State men's track and field team were picked seventh in the Big Sky Indoor Track and Field Coaches' Poll released Thursday by the conference office. The women were picked eighth. The men received 64 points and the women received 55 points.

    Northern Arizona topped the men's poll with 119 points and nine first-place votes. Northern Arizona won the Big Sky Indoor Championship last year.

    Following in second was Montana State with 97 points and two first-place votes. Sacramento State was third with 93 points, Weber State fourth with 88 points and Eastern Washington was fifth with 78 points. Southern Utah edged out Idaho State for the sixth spot with 65 points. Montana followed the Bengals in eighth place with 53 points. North Dakota, Northern Colorado and Portland State rounded out the bottom three with 25 points, 24 points and 20 points, respectively.

    On the women's side, Weber State narrowly earned the top spot over Sacramento State with 114 points and five first-place votes. Sacramento State had 113 points and six first-place votes. Weber State is the reigning  Big Sky Indoor Champion. Sacramento State won in 2010 and 2011.

    Northern Arizona was picked third with 85 points, Portland State fourth with 75 points and Southern Utah fifth with 72 points. Montana and Montana State tied for sixth ahead of Idaho State with 65 points. Following Idaho State were Eastern Washington in ninth with 39 points, North Dakota with 22 points and Northern Colorado with 21 points.

    Big Sky Indoor Championships are Feb. 21-23 hosted by Montana State.
