Idaho State softball coach Julie Wright has announced that Kourtney Armstrong will join the Bengal softball program.

    Armstrong just finished her senior season at Borah High School in Boise where she played first, second and third base and graduated with a 4.1 GPA.

    “Kourtney will be a great addition to our program,” Wright said. “She is an outstanding student-athlete who will provide great depth to our team. We are thrilled to have her and her family join ours."

    Armstrong was a four-year starter at Borah High School and competed on the Boise Blast 18U Gold team, the Idaho Ice 18U, the Idaho Diamond Bandits 14U and the Boise Blast 14U teams.

    In high school Armstrong hit .439 in 2012 and .323 in 2011. She was named the Offensive Player of the Year in 2012 and won the Offensive Threat Award in 2011. She was the Freshman of the Year in 2010 and started at third base since her freshman year. She also lettered two years in volleyball.

    During her summer softball tournaments Armstrong helped her team place second at the Valley Invite Hillsboro Gold Bracket where she started at second base. Her team placed second at the Idaho State ASA tournament (14U Blast and Bandits). She led her team in RBI.
