The Boise State men’s basketball team will treat fans to a serving of an in-state matchup right before Thanksgiving this season.

Idaho State announced its non-conference schedule on Tuesday, including a Nov. 24 matchup against Boise State, two days before the holiday. The Broncos will host the game at ExtraMile Arena. A tipoff time was not announced.

It will be the first time the two programs have met on the hardwood since a stunning 72-70 Idaho State win on Nov. 10, 2018. Boise State led by as many as 18 points in the second half, but the Bengals made 8 of 12 3-point attempts in the second half and pulled ahead with two free throws with less than a second left on the clock.

The two schools were also rivals in the Big Sky Conference from 1970-96. Boise State holds a 52-42 all-time advantage in the series.

Boise State has yet to officially announce the matchup, but it marks the fourth known date in the Broncos’ non-conference schedule and the second home date.

Boise State has previously announced a Nov. 8 home game against Butler, with the Bulldogs making the return trip to Boise in a home-and-home series which started last season in Indianapolis. The Broncos have also announced a neutral-site game against Nebraska on Nov. 15 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and a Dec. 5 road game at Wichita State.

The game against Wichita State will also be the conclusion of a home-and-home series which saw the Shockers make the trip to Boise last season.

The Broncos have yet to announce their other 12 non-conference games and the 16-game Pac-12 schedule.

Tuesday’s announcement was part of a 12-game non-conference slate announced by the Bengals, plus an exhibition home game against NAIA Montana Western on Oct. 23. Idaho State will open the regular season with four straight road games against Utah State, Wyoming, Air Force and Seattle. Idaho State has its first home game Nov. 20 against South Dakota State before its matchup with the Broncos.

After the game against Boise State, the Bengals host Azusa Pacific, Cal State Fullerton, Justice University and Northwest Indian College while playing road games against UC Davis and North Dakota State.
