MONTPELIER - The Soda Springs girls' basketball team wore down Bear Lake 51-31 on Thursday.

The Cardinals only led 24-19 at halftime but stomped the Bears in the third quarter 18-2 to ice the victory.

Bear Lake coach Jim Mattson said turnovers did in the Bears in the second half.

"We had 30 turnovers, and that's too many for Bear Lake," he said.

Hillary Hendricks led Bear Lake with 13 points, while Madie Kimball paced the Cardinals with 18. With the loss, the Bears dropped to 1-5 with a game at Shelley coming up on Saturday. Soda Springs improved to 6-0.
