BOISE - The Soda Springs girls' basketball team bounced back from its only loss of the season to capture third place at the 2A state girls' basketball tournament on Saturday.

The Cardinals used a dominating fourth quarter to earn a 55-48 win over Kamiah at Bishop Kelly High.

With the win, Soda Springs ends its campaign with a 24-1 record and its second third-place finish in the past three seasons.

After entering the final frame tied 38-38, the Cardinals pulled away from the Kubs for the victory.

Shelby Johnson led the way for Soda Springs with 17 points, Madie Kimball added 13 points and Kayla McMurray chipped in 11 points. All three are only juniors.

Tiffany Lytle led Kamiah with 20 points and 13 rebounds, but she needed 22 field goal attempts to get her points.
