IDAHO FALLS — The local man killed Friday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 20 west of Idaho Falls has been identified as 29-year-old Rylee Baird, according to the Bonneville County Coroner's Office.

The crash occurred at 2:17 p.m. when a 2025 Kia K5 sedan, driven by Baird, was traveling eastbound on Highway 20 and collided with the trailer of a 2019 Kenworth semi, according to Idaho State Police.

The semi, driven by a 40-year-old man from Aurora, Colorado, was traveling westbound on Highway 20 at the time.

A 2023 Ford F-150 pickup truck, driven by a 22-year-old man from Severance, Colorado, then collided with the Kia, police said.

Baird, of Idaho Falls, was pronounced dead at the scene by a deputy coroner, according to the Coroner's Office. He was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, authorities said.

The semi's driver was not injured and was wearing his seat belt, state police said. His name has not been released.

The Ford's driver was rushed by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the crash. His name and condition have not been released. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to state police.

Highway 20 remained completely blocked for several hours because of the wreck.

The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
