MORELAND - Steven Morton said his Snake River girls' basketball team was fortunate to beat South Fremont 46-38 on Thursday.

But thanks to a 16-0 run at the end of the game, the Panthers moved to 3-2 anyway.

"It was a sluggish game," Morton said. "They had a girl score 18 points in the third quarter, and that took us by surprise. She was shooting into an ocean there. But we started pressing at the end and got some easy baskets to win in the last five minutes."

Saige Goff led Snake River with 21 points. The Panthers next play at Sugar-Salem on Saturday.
