Richfield 60, Rockland 14
RICHFIELD - Rockland struggled to contain Richfield's running game and dropped a 60-14 decision Friday at Richfield in a game that was called midway through the third quarter due to the mercy rule.
Richfield gained 359 yards on the ground, with Michael Lezamiz rushing for 147 of those on nine carries on his way to a four-touchdown performance. Three of those came in the first quarter, and Rockland (1-7) trailed 38-0 after the period.
Rockland's two touchdowns came on Richie Turnbeaugh passes to Tyler O'Brien, who finished with 3 catches for 68 yards. Jake Spillett carried the ball 12 times for 88 yards.
