The annual Highland Peg Peterson Varsity Volleyball Invitational tournament returns to Pocatello on Friday.
This year’s field features 28 teams, including east Idaho squads Highland, Preston, Madison, Shelley, Sugar-Salem, Bear Lake, Rigby, Pocatello, Malad, South Fremont, Marsh Valley, Snake River and Blackfoot.
Friday’s pool play matches are split between Highland main gym, the Highland auxiliary gym and the Mountain View Event Center. Pool play begins Friday at 3 p.m.
Teams are then split into gold, silver and bronze double-elimination brackets for Saturday’s matches. The 12-team gold bracket begins play at 8 a.m. in both Highland gyms. The eight-team silver bracket begins play at 8 a.m. at the Mountain View Event Center, and the eight-team bronze bracket begins play at 10 a.m. at the Mountain View Event Center.
Outside food is not allowed at the MEC.
