MIDVALE, Idaho (AP) — Fire officials say the Roadside Fire burning near Midvale in western Idaho has grown to more than 3 square miles Saturday but is 40 percent contained.
Payette National Forest officials say the fire that started early Friday is burning on a mix of private, state, and federal land within the forest’s protection zone.
The fire is being fought by seven engines, eight smokejumpers, three hand crews and two dozers.
Officials expect to have the fire fully contained by Sunday evening.
