    July 17, 1987: Two new school board members, Doyle Ray, Zone 5 and Kenneth Knowles, Zone 4, were sworn in during the Marsh Valley school board annual meeting. Reed Cammack continues as chairman.    

    50 years ago

    July 17, 1962: Twenty-four members from the Rebekah Lodges in four southeastern Idaho towns visited Ivy Rebekah Lodge 23 during the final meeting at IOOF Grand Temple in Pocatello. Visitors were from American Falls, Soda Springs, Montpelier and Idaho Falls.    

    100 years ago

    July 17, 1912: At 7:45 in the evening, just after a heavy rain abated and the weekend rush resumed, Idaho Consolidated went out of commission. The break in the power line was not located until after midnight. An insulator had been shot away by some hoodlum 18 miles out of Pocatello. The city was in total darkness.
