POCATELLO — Valley Mission is giving community members a chance to win a 2019 Cub Cadet MX 750 EPS UTV to help it raise funds that will go toward the completion of its full-service rescue mission.

Raffle tickets can be purchased at $20 each or $100 for six, according to a news release from Valley Mission. All proceeds will go toward construction of the new facility.

The UTV will be great for hunters, outdoor people or anyone in need of a vehicle that can haul gear, access hunting grounds or drive through Idaho winter conditions.

Valley Mission received the vehicle as a donation from a community member. Karl Pettit, director of Valley Mission, expressed gratitude for this community member in the news release.

“His support and belief in what we are building is inspiring,” Pettit said in the news release. “This raffle gives someone the opportunity to win a great UTV while helping us take another important step toward opening the doors of this new facility.”

The new facility will be built in a former Metro Gym and Spa that Valley Mission purchased back in 2020. When it is completed, it will include a food pantry, 18-bed emergency shelter, commercial kitchen, dining area, medical clinic, a 16-bed Transformational Living Program and office space.

The project is expected to cost about $2.6 million. Valley Mission is only $600,000 away from raising enough money to complete it.

“We can see the finish line, and that is incredibly exciting,” Pettit said in the news release. “Every ticket purchased helps move us closer to a facility that will provide food, safe shelter, practical resources and opportunities for people to begin rebuilding their lives.”

The food pantry is expected to be open this fall, and the emergency shelter should be open in the winter.
