A Honda CR-V involved in a Friday afternoon crash on East Alameda Road in Pocatello.

POCATELLO — A Friday afternoon wreck left two people injured and temporarily shut down a busy local intersection.

The crash involving a Honda CR-V and Acura compact SUV occurred around 1:50 p.m. at the intersection on East Alameda Road between the Fred Meyer retail store and WinCo Foods supermarket.

Two people were rushed via Pocatello Fire Department ambulances to Portneuf Medical Center for treatment of injuries suffered in the crash.

The intersection was temporarily shut down because of the wreck.

The names and conditions of the injured and further details on how the crash occurred haven't been released.

The accident remains under investigation by Pocatello police.
