BOISE — Residents in 14 Idaho counties can now estimate their 2013 property taxes online by visiting the Idaho State Tax Commission’s website at www.tax.idaho.gov.

Moreover, the “Quick Picks” section link that can be found on the home page connects users to a calculator that allows them to estimate the total amount they will owe. Interested persons will need to have their property tax assessment notice in hand to calculate the tax.

Participating counties are as follows: Ada, Bear Lake, Benewah, Boundary, Butte, Cassia, Clearwater, Elmore, Franklin, Idaho, Jefferson, Latah, Nez Perce and Valley.

The estimate may not include all voter-approved taxing district levies, and it doesn’t include fees such as solid waste and forest protection.

Actual tax amounts will be determined after cities, counties, and other taxing districts set their budgets in late summer.
