Snake River High School Soccer Captain Darby Adams signed a Letter of Intent to trade her Panther jersey for a Columbia Basin College Blue Hawk jersey. This fall she will be on the field in Pasco, Washington, to continue to play the game she loves.

Adams has been playing soccer since she was five years old and now at 17 years old, she is ready to take the next step in her soccer adventure. As a defensive midfielder who can also play the center back position, she is ranked as the 150th best midfielder in the nation. She also has the versatility of being able to use both feet equally on the field.

Over the last two years at Snake River, she has averaged a goal a game and nearly half as many assists, as well as being captain of the team. This last year they placed third in a very competitive district. When she hasn’t been making Panther goals she has played in the spring off season with the Portneuf Valley Soccer Club.

Adams has had incredible coaching at Snake River — first by her aunt Becky Young and then by her dad Davey Adams. She said that it has been good because they have pushed her in a good way to be her best on the field.

By joining the CBC Hawks, she is joining another strong team who just finished an undefeated season with a new coach. The Lady Hawks earned the East Region Title for the

third time in four seasons. Only in the Northwest Athletic Conference Semi-Finals did they lose to Bellevue College in a tight game that went to penalty kicks.

As a junior college, CBC’s turnover of athletes is every two years when the sophomores graduate. This means that Adams will see a lot of quality play time and benefit from a successful coaching team. According to the CBC online article that summarized their season, “Recruitment for the next generation of Lady Hawks is already underway, and with the momentum of this season, the future holds endless possibilities.”

Snake River Captain Darby Adams is a part of that recruitment, and she is excited to find out what those possibilities are at CBC — and beyond.
