IDAHO FALLS — Five people, including two juveniles, were arrested in connection with a business burglary that took place over the weekend in Idaho Falls.

    According to the Idaho Falls Police report, a witness reported seeing a person drive past the Tobacco Connection at 1747 S. Sabin Drive after hearing the business alarm go off, which was activated around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. They also saw a dark colored vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed in the southbound lane of travel along Sabin Drive.

    When Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at Tobacco Connection, they saw that a brick had been thrown through the glass door and that store items were in disarray.

    A few minutes later a green, Dodge Intrepid that matched the vehicle description was stopped at the intersection of Sunnyside Road and Ross Avenue. Inside the vehicle, the deputy said cigarettes and a cigar could be seen. A search of the vehicle was then conducted, and authorities say cases of unopened beer and cigarettes were found in the trunk of the car.

    Three men were arrested in connection with this burglary. They are Oscar Uriel Chavez, 19, of Idaho Falls, Marco Antonio Barron, 18 ,of Idaho Falls, and Garrett Skidmore, 19, from Mud Lake. All three were booked into the Bonneville County Jail on one count of burglary each.

    In addition, a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old female were booked into the 3B Detention Center on burglary charges.

    According to Idaho Falls police officers, Chavez, Barron and Skidmore face attempted burglary charges. They are accused of trying to break into the Quick Stop on John Adams Parkway in Idaho Falls last Saturday night.

    According to the city report, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of John Adams Parkway for a burglary around 2:37 a.m. They found that the front doors were damaged but that no one had entered into the establishment.

    Christopher R. Woods, 36, of Idaho Falls, also faces a burglary charge.

    IFPD officials say Woods was caught trying to enter 22-plus vehicles in the parking lot of Wal-Mart last Thursday. He was successful in entering two vehicles, authorities indicated.

    Woods was taken to the Bonneville County Jail.
