POCATELLO — Award-winning musician and author Jim Gill is scheduled to perform a free family concert on Friday, April 26, at the Idaho State University Pond Student Union building from 7 to 8 p.m.

Gill performs interactive concerts and encourages children to play and dance to the music. He creates games with his songs, and children and adults are encouraged to sing, clap, and even sneeze to the silly songs that he performs on a banjo.

Gill is a child development specialist. He completed his studies in child development, with an emphasis on play, at the Erikson Institute of Chicago. He has released six albums of children’s music and written two children’s books.

The concert is part of the Eastern Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children’s Early Childhood Conference which is being held that weekend.

Doors will open at 6:30. Admission is free, and Gill will have CDs and books for sale that night. Please visit www.jimgill.com for more information.

Attendees are welcome to bring a blanket to the concert hall so that everyone can sit and enjoy the concert together. Watch videos of Gill’s performance on You Tube.
