BLACKFOOT — A 41-year-old Shelley man pleaded guilty to a felony charge of sexual abuse of a minor under 16 on Monday.

Jimmy Dale Salter entered the plea in Bingham County District Court as part of an agreement. Randy Smith, Bingham County’s chief deputy prosecuting attorney, said he, in turn, is dropping the second sexual abuse charge as well as a lewd conduct charge that he filed against Salter last month.

Salter will be sentenced on Sept. 17.
