POCATELLO — A Pocatello man is accused of assaulting a Gate City police officer last Saturday.

    Devon Matthew Westbrook, 19, also faces one count of driving under the influence of alcohol. Pocatello Police Department officers pulled him over in the 1,000 block of Pocatello Avenue around 10:30 p.m.

    A man who violated his parole in California was located in Pocatello on Sept. 21. Jeffrey James Johnson, 24, was taken into custody at 450 S. Lincoln Ave. where officers were called on to check out a possible disturbance. During the investigation, police say it was discovered that Johnson had two warrants out for his arrest. He was reportedly taken into custody without incident.

    In addition, Marvin Gail Cox, 55, of Pocatello, is accused of battery.

    Ty K. Owen, 19, of Pocatello, was also arrested recently. He is charged with resisting and obstructing an officer.

    Seven juveniles were also cited over the weekend for underage possession/consumption of alcohol. Their names cannot be released to the public based on their age.
