BOISE — Rocky Mountain Power officials have proposed a settlement with Idaho utility regulators, consumer advocates and customer groups to continue a multi-year pricing plan for its Idaho customers through 2015.

    If the settlement is approved by the Idaho Public Utilities Commission, prices for all customers will increase Jan. 1, 2014 by an average 0.77 percent, which is less than $1 per month for the typical residential customer.

    The settlement totals $2 million to recover investment the commission previously approved. It provides that no other price increase from a general rate case will occur prior to Jan. 1, 2016.

    “We are sensitive to how electricity prices affect all our customers,” said the Director of Idaho Rocky Mountain Power operations, Vaughn Rasmussen, in a news release. “We have been very conscious about controlling operating costs, and we have put off some projects until later. Still, we always work to make sure customers in Idaho have the electric service they expect and deserve.”

    The public may comment on the proposed settlement during the commission’s review process. A copy of the company’s testimony in support of this settlement is available for public review at the commission’s offices at the company’s offices in Rexburg, Preston, Shelley, and Montpelier.
