Police seek shoplifter
Surveillance video shot at Sportsman\'s Warehouse captured this image of the suspect. Submitted photo.

CHUBBUCK - Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who allegedly used a small boy to distract store clerks while he shoplifted sporting equipment.

The man and boy were captured on video camera entering Sportsman's Warehouse on Hurley Drive at approximately 10:30 a.m. Friday.

"The child creates a disturbance that brings the clerks away from his father," Pocatello Police Capt. Steve Findley said. "The father is seen on their surveillance video placing a number of items up under his shirt. He ended up with about $500 worth of different archery items."

Anyone who recognizes the adult or child is encouraged to contact the patrol shift commander at 234-6142 or dispatch at 234-6100.
