POCATELLO — A suspect has been arrested for the July 14 robbery of the Maverik convenience store on East Alameda Road, but Pocatello police are still looking for a second suspect as well as investigating cases involving a burned 20-month-old child and two additional armed robberies that took place this week.

    And Mark Turner, 33, of Pocatello, was arrested for aggravated assault Thursday about 3:45 p.m. after he allegedly pointed a firearm at a 13-year-old boy at the Turner family residence on Jane Street. Detectives also charged the 13-year-old with lewd conduct and eight children in the home were declared in imminent danger. Turner claims the firearm was, in fact, an Airsoft gun.

    Police Lt. Paul Manning said the level of activity for the force has been unusual.

    “Pocatello is not like that,” Manning said.

    Charges have not been filed in the case of the child who suffered serious burns at a residence on North 9th Street Thursday. The child was transported to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City with burns over 9 percent of his body. Detectives are investigating the incident and reported that the family has not been cooperative.

    “They collected a lot of evidence,” Manning said about the investigation which could lead to a child protection action.

    Edwardo Lopez Wally Jaramillo, 47, of Pocatello, faces one count of robbery in the Maverik incident. He was taken into custody Wednesday on two outstanding warrants. The robbery charge was filed on Friday and his residence at 842 Willard was searched.

    “I think they have a lot of the pieces of the puzzle,” Pocatello police Lt. Paul Manning said about city police detectives working the case. He added that they still want the public's help in locating the second suspect, described as a Hispanic male who wore a red hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head at the time of the robbery.

    Pocatello police also are still looking for male suspects in the armed robbery of a Domino's Pizza delivery person in the parking lot of the business at 275 Yellowstone that took place Wednesday about 11:30 p.m. and the armed robbery of the Kmart pharmacy on Pole Line Road Thursday about 8 p.m.

    Police do not believe the two cases are related.

    In the Domino's case, the delivery person was confronted by a man with a handgun in the parking lot and surrendered a small amount of cash. The employee was not injured. The suspect is described as an adult male wearing a red hat, red bandana, red shirt and dark pants at the time of the robbery.

    The suspect in the Kmart robbery is described as white male, 6’ tall, very skinny, in his 20’s, with 2 to 3 days beard growth, unkept, wearing camouflage pants, a blue shirt or hoodie, with a grey cloth on his head. The suspect fled the store on foot after securing drugs from the pharmacist at gunpoint. No one was injured.

    Employees and customers were evacuated from the Kmart and the inside of the store was searched by a K-9 unit as a precaution.
