City of Pocatello officials are asking residents to turn off their home and business sprinkler systems.

“The ground is already saturated from yesterday’s storm, and more rain is expected today and tomorrow,” says Pocatello Fire Chief Dave Gates. “Sprinkler systems are adding to the saturation problem. Please turn off all automated sprinkler systems and refrain from watering yard and landscape areas until the storm cycle is over.”

Funny, as I was coming into work this morning I drove by some city property that had the sprinklers going.

Happy to hear that the city is asking residents to refrain from watering. Good sakes people we just got dumped on. I couldn't believe all the watering going on in my neighborhood during and right after this big downpour. Let's use some common sense please! What a waste of water! I know some in our neighborhood would say well we pay for unlimited water through Fort Hall so no big deal. Well the big deal is it's wasteful.
