Highway 30 West and Philbin Road accident

Doug Lindley / Idaho State JournalAn accident involving a car and motorcycle occurred at the intersection of Highway 30 West and Philbin Road Wednesday afternoon. The driver of the motorcycle, Daryl D. Shelley, of Pocatello, sustained serious injuries in the incident and was transported to Portneuf Medical Center and then flown to the University of Utah medical center. The driver of the car was not injured.

    POCATELLO — Motorcyclist Daryl D. Shelley, who was injured in a crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Philbin Road on Wednesday, is listed in serious condition at the University of Utah hospital in Salt Lake City.

    The medical update was provided to the Idaho State Journal around 6 p.m. Thursday night by a public relations representative.

    The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident, Marian J. Shappart, was not injured.

    Shelley, however, was transported to Portneuf Medical Center for initial examination and treatment. He was later flown by medical helicopter to the University of Utah hospital.

    According to Pocatello Police Department officials, an accident reconstruction team was called out to investigate the crash due to the severity of the injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
