POCATELLO —  Six area high school students were named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Those named are Steven G. Osberg and Tyler B. Ames of Pocatello High School; Lydia Delehanty and Nichole Link of Century High School; and Bryan Grigg and Sonya Overholster of Highland High School.

These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring.

To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, Semifinalists must fulfill rigorous requirements to advance to the Finalist level of competition.
