POCATELLO - The scenario is already too familiar in the United States: A distraught gunman opens fire on a campus and law enforcement officials rush to the scene to face the assailant.
Law enforcement hope to never face the situation, but an increasing number of local agencies throughout the country are engaging in emergency drills to prepare in the event of such a tragedy.
Idaho State University held such a drill Thursday morning, with three local enforcement agencies assisting the ISU's Department of Public Safety in the simulation.
