POCATELLO — Varying forms of art created by Idaho State University undergraduates, graduate students and faculty members will be on display at 334 N. Main St. tonight from 5 to 8 p.m.

    The open house is being held in conjunction with Old Town Pocatello’s First Friday Art Walk event.

    “This is exciting for the art department because we usually feature just one artist at a time,” said ISU Sculpture Professor Doug Warnock.

    Ceramics, paintings, sculptures and other forms of art will be on display at the

group exhibition.

    “We may have some items related to print making there, as well as some metal work,” Warnock added. “We will have a little bit of everything.”

    Wine, cheese and crackers will be provided at the free event, along with musical entertainment.

    “I think this will be a visual testament of how strong our department is,” Warnock said, who has been employed at ISU for 18 years now. “We teach art in a  comprehensive way here. We are a very close-knit group.”

    Artists with ties to ISU have participated in the First Friday Art Walk before but never in a group setting like this, according to Warnock.

    “This is a great opportunity to see what is going on at ISU. Several artists will be present,” Warnock said. “Anyone who is interested in pursuing a degree in art is also encouraged to attend as we will be here to answer questions.”
