IDAHO FALLS — Law enforcement officers Aaron Murdock and Spencer Steel were formally recognized on Wednesday for saving the life of a suicidal man on Aug. 13.

    Both Idaho Falls Police Department employees received Life-Saving Awards.

    Back in August, Murdock and Steel were called upon to find a man who had reportedly attempted to end his life as he lay unresponsive in a garage filled with toxic fumes.

    Upon arrival, the officers forced entry into the garage and pulled the man out to safety.

    In a news release, IFPD officials described the officers’ actions as selfless. The men were also complimented on the level of professionalism they maintain each day and on how they are in keeping with the highest traditions of law enforcement.
