BOISE — Average retail gasoline prices in Idaho have not moved in the past week, averaging $3.76 a gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 802 gas outlets in Idaho.

    This compares with the national average that has fallen 5.7 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.50 a gallon.

    Including the change in gas prices in Idaho over the past week, prices on June 30 were 14.3 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are unchanged compared to a month ago. The national average has decreased 13.6 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 12.9 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.

    "After an impressive surge abated several weeks ago, we're seeing gasoline prices decline nicely," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan in a news release. "One in five states currently has at least one gas station with gasoline under $3 a gallon: South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Ohio, Texas, New Mexico, Virginia, Indiana, and Michigan all have at least one station statewide under $3.”

    He added: “The national average is likely to continue its decline this week as retail prices catch up to the decrease in wholesale gasoline prices.”
