Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle fatality crash south of Lone Pine Tuesday at 3:20 p.m., according to a press release from ISP
Steven D. Strickling, 49 of Idaho Falls, was driving north on State Highway 28 in a 2007 Kenworth Tractor hauling a load of road mix. Strickling drove off the right shoulder of the roadway, lost control, and drove back onto the road where the truck overturned coming to rest on its driver's side in the south lane of travel. The impact of the crash caused part of the load to scatter on the highway and roadside.
Strickling was trapped in his vehicle where he succumbed to his injures.
The south lane of travel has been blocked since the time of crash. Crews are on scene working to remove the wreckage.
