IDAHO FALLS — Police are still searching for a man who attempted an early-morning robbery of a taxi cab driver last Friday.

    The passenger is described as a white male who is approximately 17 to 21 years old, about 5 foot, 10 inches tall to 6 feet tall, with short dark hair. He was wearing dark clothes with a hoodie at the time.

    According to the police report, Safe Ride Taxi received a request for a cab some time after 1 a.m. on Nov. 29, responding to the requested location where the cab picked up a white male.

     Idaho Falls Police Department officials said the driver then proceeded to the location where the passenger asked to be driven, near Idaho and Jay streets in Idaho Falls. When they arrived at the location, the passenger asked the driver if he had change so that he could pay him.

     The driver then reportedly pulled out his change bag and that’s when a struggle over the bag ensued.

     Ultimately, police said the passenger failed to get the change bag and left the cab without paying.
