Fire - Generic

IDAHO FALLS — No one was injured when a fire erupted at 5996 East 81st North around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to Idaho Falls Fire Department officials.

Upon arrival, firefighters noted that smoke derived from the exterior gable vents. Using a thermal imager, they found a live fire in the attic space.

The fire was brought under control fairly quickly after the ceiling was pulled down so that the crew could access the fire’s flames.

Occupants of the home declined help to find temporary housing.

The damage total is estimated at $25,000.
