POCATELLO — A boat accident about 25 miles east of Idaho Falls left one person dead and another injured Thursday, according to a press release from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.

Lisa Ann Keating, 44, of Idaho Falls, died and her husband Raymond Keating was treated after the accident, according to Sgt. Alisa Prudent, of the sheriff’s department.

“At approximately 3:30 p.m. Bonneville County Deputies were dispatched to a capsized boat in the Snake River, six to seven miles upriver from the Byington Boat Ramp,” Prudent said. “The male subject from the boat was reportedly out of the river and safe. The female occupant from the boat was missing.

Deputies from Bonneville and Jefferson Counties, as well as Air Idaho responded and recovered the female subject from the river, Prudent said.

“The Air Rescue flight crew was able to … fly her to medical personnel waiting on the river bank,” she said, but added that the women showed no signs of life after she was recovered from the river.

Medical personnel transported the male subject to the hospital for treatment.
