POCATELLO — The city of Pocatello is hosting a ground-breaking ceremony for South Valley Road, formerly called the Cheyenne Connector, on May 24 at 3 p.m.
The east-to-west connector is being built from Bannock Highway to South Fifth Avenue.
The ceremony will be held on the South Fifth Avenue side of the project. This project has been in the planning stages for nearly 19 years.
Parking is restricted in the construction zone, so parking and transportation for those who wish to attend is being provided. Citizens can park at the Bannock County Road and Bridge Department, 5500 S. Fifth Ave., and Pocatello Regional Transit will provide transportation to the ground-breaking site.
Citizens should be aware that there will be a short walk to the ceremony location.
