POCATELLO — On May 30 a very special evening was held to help Sarah Brown’s family. Sarah Brown received a heart transplant and the whole town was excited to help with the fundraiser.
Texas Roadhouse furnished all the delicious food, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, salad and a hot roll. Thank you for all your help to make such a wonderful evening. The Mystique Dinner Theater provided their building and all the decorations to make such a great night. Thank you for your help. The people who organized the whole event spent many hours getting entertainment, food, a place to have it, all kinds of items for the auction. A special thanks to each of you. I don’t know all of your names, but thank you.
As the evening was enjoyed, the Whole Smedley family entertained — the whole family plays instruments and sings. Rhythm ‘n Sole Dance Studio brought their dancers and what a treat! Music was played on the piano and sung by Dale Belnap.
One of the most special events of the evening was when Julia Brown, mother of Sarah Brown, spoke about Sarah, I think you could have heard a pin drop, everyone was so thankful for her humility and love that she shared with the whole group. The family was so thankful for all the help and support of the community. Sarah was able to walk a short distance at the hospital that day. What a great blessing.
They brought out the last of the auction, there were three large quilts, one from Sage’s Creek, two from the Angel Hands Quilt Club. They auctioned off two and went back to get the third quilt, and it was gone. They searched the building, they searched all the garbage, they searched the whole area and it was not to be found.
We are hoping that someone discovered that it was put in with some other auction items and it will be returned. Please bring it to the Pocatello (Marshall) Public Library, drop it off, no questions asked. There was also some beautiful jewelry that turned up missing. Please help us find them.
Lucille Linford is one of the quilters of the Angel Hands Quilt Club.
