PRESTON — The Distinguished Young Women for 2013-14 program is set for April 13 at Preston High School in the auditorium, beginning at 7 p.m. Sixteen girls will take part.
Sponsored by the Franklin County Farm Bureau, tickets for the annual scholarship program for girls who are high school juniors are available at the Farm Bureau.
The young women will have the opportunity to earn money for their talent, scholastic capabilities, poise and physical fitness.
Hannah Waite, current title holder, will take her final walk at this event, then relinquish her title.
Chairwomen for the program are Julie Smith and Vickie Henderson.
The girls, the parents and talent are:
Kyra Jo Shirley, daughter of Mike and Dottie Shirley. She will do a lyrical dance.
Braxtyn Jade Moffitt, daughter of Jason and Patriece Moffitt, will do a piano solo for her talent.
Kelli Ann Alvey, daughter of Kellen and Adrienne Alvey, will do a jazz/contemporary dance for her talent.
Tori Groll, daughter of Chris and Jeannine Groll, will do a violin solo for her talent.
Hailey Griffeth is the daughter of John and Michele Griffeth. For her talent, she will do a piano solo.
Brittney Michelle Garvis is the daughter of Jeffery and Michelle Garvis. She will do a piano solo for her talent.
Jasie Geddes, daughter of Casey and Jessica Geddes, will do a lyrical dance for her talent.
Abbey Olsen, daughter of Michael and Carolyn Olsen, will do a piano solo for her talent.
Taylor Jessie Peterborg is the daughter of Phil and Andrea Peterborg. She will do a piano solo for her talent.
Whitnee Ann Smart is the daughter of Daran and Lori Ann Smart. For her talent she will perform a contemporary dance.
Stephanie Gwen Davis is the daughter of Scott and Shelly Davis. For her talent, she will perform a piano solo.
Millie Jo Geddes, daughter of Michael and Tristan Geddes, will do a piano solo for her talent.
Jadyn Rose Priestley, daughter of Richard and Rosalie Priestley, will do a vocal solo for her talent.
Vanessa Stokes, daughter of Derek and Eyra, will do clogging for her talent.
Kennedy Bingham is the daughter of Ken and April Bingham. She will perform a piano solo for her talent.
Katie Gregory is the daughter of Reese and Ellen Gregory. She will do a vocal solo for her talent.
