Firefighters were able to contain and control a 10-acre fire on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation by Tuesday night, according to the Eastern Idaho Interagency Fire Center.

    The fire, known as the Little Indian Fire, started July 2 northeast of Blackfoot. One Bureau of Land Management engine and another from the Fort Hall Fire Department responded and were able to contain and control it by 6 p.m. Wednesday.

    Much of Southern Idaho is under a red-flag warning with a half-dozen wildfires burning and officials were worried that holiday fireworks may spark more.

    The Bray Lake fire, seven miles north of Bliss, was reported Wednesday evening.

    The Times-News reported that officials initially believed it burned 3 square miles. On Thursday, Bureau of Land Management spokesman Joel Olsen says the fire is actually smaller than that, but an exact measurement hasn’t been made

    Fire officials expected the Jim Brown fire south of Richfield to be contained Thursday night after burning more than  22 square miles.

    Meanwhile, the Pointe Fire near Rogerson has burned more than

four square miles.

    The newspaper reported Thursday that no structures are threatened by the fires burning in the southern part of the state.
