Idaho State Police responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. 91 and Ferry Butte Road south of Blackfoot Sunday at approximately 5:51 p.m., according to an ISP press release.

    A 1993 Mitsubishi Galant was traveling east on Ferry Butte Road and failed to obey the stop sign at the intersection. Brook Jensen, 37, of Blackfoot, was driving south on U.S. 91 in a 2004 Ford Expedition with five minor children in the vehicle. The driver and passenger of the Mitsubishi fled the scene of the crash on foot, according to police.

    The road was blocked for approximately 1 hour. The driver and passengers in Jensen's vehicle were wearing  seat belts.

    The crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
